Naremburn School vision for reconciliation
Our vision for reconciliation is an Australia which celebrates over 60,000 years of continuous Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures while recognising our shared national identity from the time of colonisation. All Australians will have a deep knowledge and understanding of our nation’s ancient and modern history, and an acknowledgement of past injustices.
At Naremburn School, our relationship between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and the broader Australian community is equal, equitable and respectful.
Our community of staff and students will continue to explore and appreciate the history of the Cammeraygal people and the land on which we work and learn. We will actively engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, develop our understanding of Country, and reflect on our personal connections to the land. We will explore the Indigenous languages of the First Nations Eora tribes, guided by reliable and valid Indigenous organisations and scholars.
Naremburn School will be a school without racism which embraces and celebrates the diversity of staff and students. The dimensions of reconciliation will be permanently embedded in the school and will be continuously evolving.
