Enrolment

Enrolment Procedures Naremburn School

Students who are identified by their schools as needing extra support with their learning are referred to their School's Learning and Wellbeing team.

An access request is completed and forwarded to the Learning Wellbeing Officer associated with their school at Macquarie Park Office.

Placement Panels are convened at Macquarie Park office week 3 and week 8 each term. Applications are carefully considered and a determination made. Naremburn School is not part of this process.

An email is sent to the school advising that the student has been offered a position. The parents/caregivers accept or reject the offer within 7 days.

Parents/Caregivers are asked to contact the school to arrange a meeting where the school and its educational program are explained. The student and executive staff complete an interview, and the student comes to a decision about possibly enrolling. The student then can complete the forms at this meeting if it is deemed appropriate. Otherwise, a further meeting can be scheduled.

At the enrolment. A ghosted copy of the student's enrolment form is checked by the parent/ caregiver and appropriate changes are made. Students need to have a Medicare card and a birth certificate at enrolment to be sighted. If the student is in Year 9 or above, they will also complete the Distance Education enrolment.

When the forms are complete and signed, they are emailed along with the enrolment form, the Access Request document, a Personal Support Learning Plan and Risk Assessment to the Learning and Wellbeing Officer at Macquarie Park Office.

The forms are checked then presented to the DEL for approval.
