Enrolment Procedures – Naremburn School
Naremburn School is a School for Specific Purpose (SSP) providing specialised support for students with Intensive Learning Support needs, including behavioural support. Enrolment into an SSP differs from other public schools, as it involves a referral and placement process.
Parents/caregivers are asked to contact Naremburn School to arrange a meeting. During this meeting:
- The school and its educational program are explained.
- The student and executive staff complete an interview to determine whether the student wishes to enrol.
- If appropriate, enrolment forms can be completed at this meeting; otherwise, a further meeting can be scheduled.
At enrolment, parents/caregivers check a copy of the student’s enrolment form, making any necessary corrections. Students must provide:
- Medicare card
- Birth certificate
- Students in Year 9 or above also complete the Distance Education enrolment.
Completed forms—including the enrolment form, Access Request, Personal Support Learning Plan, and Risk Assessment—are emailed to the Learning and Wellbeing Officer at the Macquarie Park Office. These forms are reviewed and then presented to the Director, Educational Leadership (DEL) for approval.
